Control unit for a time switch which has control elements to set the actual time, the days of the week and switching on and off times and means for programming them, and which has a display unit (1) to show these values, characterised in that the control unit has a first control element (2) for the combined setting of the time, the days of the week and the switching times such that when this control element (2) is operated, the actual clock time is switched forward and is changed over as the clock time runs into the day of the week which immediately follows, and in that the control unit has a second control element (3) to select switching positions (on/off) and to assign them to the switching times which may be selected by means of the first control element (2) such that as the second control element (3) is operated, the "on" position is changed over to the "off" position alternately each time the key is depressed and is shown on the display unit (1), and in that in each of these positions the clock times assigned to the switching on position or the switching off position may be selected or corrected by means of the first control element (2), these times appearing on the display unit (1) in place of the actual time, and in that when programming has ended or if the two control elements are not operated after a preset time, the programming process is terminated and the actual clock time reappears on the display unit (1).
