[origin: US4718216A] Packaging machines have to, on the one hand, achieve high levels of output but, on the other hand, take into account the sensitivity of the cigarettes to mechanical stresses. A two-track configuration of the packaging machine doubles the output at a given speed (number of strokes). By the special designing of a cigarette magazine (26) in conjunction with a group turret (28), it is accomplished that the formation of cigarette groups (21) and the insertion into the pockets (64) of the group turret (28) can be performed within adequately set stroke times at a high output of the packaging machine.

Verpackungsmaschinen für Zigaretten müssen auf der einen Seite hohe Leistungen erbringen, auf der anderen Seite aber die Empfindlichkeit der Zigaretten gegenüber mechanischen Beanspruchungen berücksichtigen. Durch zweibahnige Ausbildung der Verpackungsmaschine wird die Leistung bei vorgegebener Geschwindigkeit (Taktzahl) verdoppelt. Durch besondere Ausgestaltung eines Zigaretten-Magazins (26) in Verbindung mit einem Gruppenrevolver (28) wird erreicht, daß bei hoher Leistung der Verpackungsmaschine die Bildung von Zigaretten-Gruppen (21) und der Einschub in die Taschen (64) des Gruppenrevolvers (28) innerhalb ausreichend bemessener Taktzeiten erfolgen kann.
