[origin: US4727525A] The watch case including a back cover, a caseband, a crystal, the peripheral zone of which entirely covers the caseband, a casing ring including at least one packing, a pair of supports facing one another fixed to the caseband and forming therewith a slot in which the crystal may be engaged and means for displacing the casing ring in order to compress the packing against the internal surface of the crystal and block said crystal against the supports. The crystal exhibits at least in its peripheral zone a spherical form of constant thickness. The upper surface of the caseband has the form of a part of a sphere the radius of which is substantially equal to that of the internal surface of the crystal. During assembly the internal surface of the crystal is made to slide over the upper surface of the caseband with a rotational motion resulting from the sliding of a spherical surface over part of a sphere.

La boîte de montre comporte un fond (17), une carrure (1), une glace (5) dont la zone périphérique (6) recouvre entièrement la carrure, un cercle (7) comportant au moins une garniture (8), deux appuis (27,28) se faisant face, solidaires de la carrure et formant avec elle une rainure (16) dans laquelle la glace peut être engagée et des moyens de déplacement (17,18) du cercle pour compresser ladite garniture contre la face interne de la glace et bloquer ladite glace (5) contre lesdits appuis (27,28). Au moins dans sa zone périphéque (6) la glace présente une forme sphérique d'épaisseur constante. La face supérieure (19) de la carrure présente la forme d'une portion de sphère dont le rayon est sensiblement égal au rayon que présente la face interne de la glace. Lors du montage on fait glisser la face interne de la glace sur la face supérieure de la carrure selon un mouvement tournant résultant du glissement d'une surface sphérique sur une portion de sphère.
