[origin: WO8602257A1] A contoured and sharpened needle (1), used for surgical cutting, is formed with a gently curved shaft (2) which matches the surface (19) of the anterior lens capsule (20). The shaft (2) of the needle (1) is bent to provide easy handling of the needle during surgery. Irrigation fluid is delivered through the shaft (2) of the needle (1) to prevent the tip (10) from heating and to minimize trauma to the surrounding tissue. The tip (10) is hook-shaped to allow it to hook and remove the cut anterior capsule (20) once the cutting procedure is finished.

Aiguille profilée et affilée (1) utilisée pour la coupe chirurgicale, pourvue d'une tige à courbure douce (2) qui épouse la surface (19) de la capsule de la lentille antérieure (20). La tige (2) de l'aiguille (1) est courbée pour faciliter la manipulation de l'aiguille pendant l'intervention chirurgicale. Un fluide d'irrigation circule à travers la tige (2) de l'aiguille (1) pour empêcher tout échauffement de la pointe (10) et réduire au minimum les traumatismes des tissus environnants. La pointe (10) est crochue de manière à pouvoir accrocher et extraire la capsule antérieure découpée (20), à la fin de la procédure de coupe.
