[origin: EP0198219A2] In a process for adapting the air flow in the heating zone and/or the cooling zone of a tunnel furnace in the ceramic industry with changing charge, to change the set values for the temperature in the zone to be regulated, a first set value assigned to the first charge type has added to it a component which is evaluated with a factor, which results from the difference between the first set value and the second set value, which is assigned to the charge type following, the set values being determined empirically. As a result, a regulating process is produced, by means of which a satisfactory adaptation of the air flow in the heating zone and/or the cooling zone of a tunnel furnace can be brought about rapidly, even with changing charge.
