A device for wrapping articles by pulling a plastic film tubing (3) over said articles, especially over goods stapled on pallets, with the film tubing (3) laterally pleated inwards being fed via an upper main reflecting roller (7) followed by separating blades (1) inserted into the lateral pleats from both sides, the film tubing (3) being gripped, spread and pulled over the articles by clamping jaws (8) provided on vertically movable slides (18) in pairs in opposition close to both edges of the film tubing (3) the edge position of which is monitored by sensors (2) placed between the separating blades (1) and the main deflecting roller (3), said sensors (2) directing the lateral edges of the film tubing into the area of the separating blades (1), characterized by the separating blades (1) and the sensors (2) being arranged on a vertically movalbe adjustment carriage (4) movable horizontally to the extent of the deviations of the film tubing (3), and supporting a clamping device (5) effective to the film tubing (3) alternative, and supporting an upper assisting deflecting roller (6) which overtops the main deflecting roller (7) in the uppermost position of the adjustment carriage (4) that is movable downwards into the zone of the clamping jaws (8).
