[origin: WO8602481A1] An erasure protection device for audio or video magnetic tape cassettes which prevents erasure only in an initial predetermined section of the tape. In this way it is possible to retain on the non-erasable initial section of the tape important or constantly-needed information or similar, whereas the remaining section of the tape can be erased and re-recorded at all times, as desired by the user.

Un dispositif de protection contre l'effacement des cassettes audio ou vidéo à bande magnétique, qui empêche l'effacement seulement dans une première partie prédéterminée de la bande. De cette manière, il est possible de conserver, sur la première partie non effaçable de la bande, des informations importantes ou constamment requises, ou des informations semblables, alors que le reste de la bande peut être effacé et re-enregistré à tout moment, au souhait de l'utilisateur.
