In a method for producing a contact border on a fluorescent screen for flat picture display apparatuses, it is proposed that, initially in the border region of the inner surface of the screen glass (2), a layer (1) of a thick-layer metallic paste be applied and dried, and that subsequently the fluorescent layer (3) has an aluminium layer (4) deposited on it, such that an electrical contact is produced by overlapping with the thick-layer metallic paste which is applied to the border region of the screen glass (2) and forms the contact border. The method according to the invention is used in the production of flat plasma picture screens. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Kontaktrandes auf einem Leuchtschirm für flache Bildanzeigegeräte wird vorgeschlagen, daß zunächst im Randbereich der Innenoberfläche des Schirmglases (2) eine Schicht (1) aus einer Dickschicht-Metallpaste aufgebracht und getrocknet wird und daß anschließend die Leuchtschicht (3)so mit einer Al-Schicht (4) hinterlegt wird, daß durch Überlappung mit der im Randbereich des Schirmglases (2) aufgebrachten, den Kontaktrand Bildenden Dickschicht-Metallpaste ein elektrischer Kontakt entsteht. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren wird bei der Herstellung von flachen Plasmabildschirmen verwendet.
