In a guide device (4, 4', 4'') for projectiles (1) of a weaving machine having a device for braking the projectiles (1) at the end of the guide device, the projectile is guided in a first guiding section with little play. This is followed by a second guiding section where the projectile is granted significantly more play than in the first guiding section in the direction of the normal forces (N, N') acting on the projectile within the brake. The second section extends over a short length, compared with the total length of the guide device, upstream of the inlet opening for the projectile into the braking device (6). If the length of the second guiding section is only of the magnitude of the length of the projectile, guide surfaces which act in the direction of the normal forces (N, N') can be dispensed with there. <IMAGE>

In einer Führungsvorrichtung (4, 4', 4") für Projektile (1) einer Webmaschine mit einer Vorrichtung zum Abbremsen der Projektile (1) am Ende der Führungsvorrichtung wird das Projektil in einem ersten Führungsabschnitt mit engem Spiel geführt. Darauf folgt ein zweiter Führungsabschnitt, der dem Projektil in Richtung der in der Bremse auf das Projektil wirkenden Normalkräfte (N, N') ein wesentlich grösseres Spiel als im ersten Führungsabschnitt gewährt. Der zweite Abschnitt erstreckt sich über eine im Vergleich zur Gesamtlänge der Führungsvorrichtung kurze Strecke vor der Eintrittsöffnung für das Projektil in die Bremsvorrichtung (6). Wenn die Länge des zweiten Führungsabschnittes nur in der Grössenordnung der Projektillänge liegt, können dort in Richtung der Normalkräfte (N, N') wirksame Führungsflächen entfallen.
