[origin: EP0200167A2] A lubricant coating is formed on a metal surface by application of an aqueous solution of a polyethylene-imine and a thermoplastic water-soluble resin followed by drying and application of a lubricating oil. They lubricant coating serves as a good lubricant for cold working and can subsequently be removed by an alkaline cleaner.
