[origin: US4725715A] A tubular case closed at its two ends respectively by a first side wall carrying two electric supply terminals and a second side wall carrying a hot gas outlet nozzle for discharging a jet of heated oxygen. A heating tube extends axially through the case constituting a heating resistance, the wall or this heating tube being provided in one of its end portions with at least one opening for the passage of the gas to the interior of the heating tube and the outlet nozzle. The case also includes a heat exchanger of thermoconductive material and gas pre-heating means.

La présente invention concerne un appareil pour la production d'un jet de gaz à haute température. Cet appareil est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une enceinte tubulaire (1) fermée à ses deux extrémités respectivement par deux flasques transversaux (2, 3), à savoir un premier flasque (2) portant deux bornes d'alimentation électrique et un second flasque portant une buse (21) de sortie du gaz chaud, un tube chauffant (11) s'étendant axialement en travers de l'enceinte, constituant une résistance de chauffage, la paroi de ce tube chauffant (11) étant percée, dans l'une de ses parties extrêmes, d'au moins un trou (19) pour le passage du gaz vers l'intérieur de tube chauffant (11) et la buse de sortie (21), un échangeur de chaleur (14, 15) en matériau thermoconducteur et des moyens (17) de préchauffage du gaz. Application à la production d'un jet d'oxygène chaud.
