Drum-type washing machine whose washing drum is rotatably arranged within a liquor container, with a detergent dispenser for pulverulent and/or liquid treatment media, and the liquor container communicates with a run-off system which consists of a run-off pipe, a liquor pump and a run-off tube, and the run-off pipe contains a valve which closes during the flushing in of the treatment medium. To ensure that the valve is indeed in the closed position before fresh water is added, the liquor pump is first briefly operated before the start of the addition of fresh water into the liquor container. <IMAGE>

Trommelwaschmaschine (1), deren Wäschetrommel (4) in einem Laugenbehälter (5) umlaufend angeordnet ist, mit einer Waschmittelzugabeeinrichtung (2) für pulverförmige und/oder flüssige Behandlungsmittel, und der Laugenbehälter (5) mit einem Ablaufsystem in Verbindung gebracht ist, das aus einem Ablaufstutzen (6) einer Laugenpumpe (8) und einem Ablaufschlauch (9) besteht, und im Ablaufstutzen (6) eine diesen während des Behanlungsmittel-Einspülvorganges verschließende Ventileinrichtung (11) angeordnet ist. Damit sichergestellt ist, daß sich die Ventileinrichtung vor Beginn der Frischwasserzufuhr auch in Schließstellung befindet, wird vor Beginn der Frischwasserzufuhr in den Laugenbehälter zuerst die Laugenpumpe kurzzeitig in Betrieb gesetzt.
