1. Outer frame or wing frame for windows or doors a) comprising a hollow cross-sectionally rectangular main profile member (1) of synthetic plastics material, b) with, constructed at the four corners of the main profile member (1) grooves (2) disposed symmetrically both with regard to a plane extending at right-angles to the plane of the frame in the longitudinal direction of and through the main profile member (1), as well as in relation to a plane extending parallel with the plane of the frame in the longitudinal direction of and through the main profile member (1), and c) with abutment rib strips (21) with engaging ribs (20) which by form-locking engagement, can over their entire length be snapped into position in a groove (2) in the main profile member (1), characterised in that d) the engaging rib (20) has a shallow projection which protrudes into a channel (24) in the groove (2) engaging around that edge of the channel (24) which is towards the groove opening.
