Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8603119A1] The massage apparatus is intended to punctual massage at different regions of the human body, in particular in reflexion areas of the sole of the foot. The massage is carried out by means of a vibrating rod (10) (elevation motions) which is simultaneously subjected to a displacement along a closed trajectory, preferably circular (rotational motion). The vibration direction (elevation direction) corresponds essentially to the axial direction of the rod (10). The massage rod (10) is connected to a vibrating body (24) in mesh with a crank (25) driven by an electric motor (19) via a transmission mechanism (21, 23). A vibrator (elevation device) comprised of an arm (26) is secured under the vibrating body (24) to an axially movable bar (27). The members intended to drive the massage rod (10) are arranged in a casing of which the upper face is inclined in order to form a bearing surface for the foot and is provided with a hole for the rod (10). Said hole is covered by a cap (8) presenting an opening for the massage rod (10) and forming the control member for the switch of the electric motor (19).
