Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0205060A2] This container consists of a canister formed by a jacket part and a bottom part and a lid used for closing the canister, in which the canister is formed from an integrally fabricated centrifugal casting which is provided with a sheathing of a compound material formed from metal and plastic. The jacket is formed by a matrix of a low-melting-point metal or a low-melting-point metal alloy, for example a copper/tin, copper/antimony, lead/antimony, copper/lead alloy or the like, in which moulded bodies of a plastic having a disintegration point which is above the melting point of the metal or of the alloy are embedded. The canister is provided with a cross sectionally star-shaped insert basket subdividing the container space into several chambers. The canister is fabricated in such a manner that the canister is integrally cast in a standing mould in accordance with the centrifugal casting process, whereupon the canister is provided with a sleeve exhibiting an inlet for rising casting and with an outer skin surrounding the canister at a distance, into which lumpy plastic material is filled in dense packing and metal is poured. <IMAGE>
