A monopole aerial comprises a plurality of conductive elements (1, 2) and a transmission line (3) coupled between at least one pair of adjacent elements thereby providing capacitive coupling therebetween. The transmission line (3) comprises at least two conductors (5, 6) one of which is electrically connected to one of the elements and the other is electrically connected to the other element.
