[origin: WO8603541A1] In a sliding door system, the abutting edges (70, 72) of the two doors (66, 68) are substantially planar in shape (as opposed to stepped or grooved) with the angle of the plane being less than 90?o to the plane of the doors when they are in their abutting closed condition. This construction gives the doors a neat, clean appearance when seen from the front when closed. The pair of doors (10A, 10B) may be guided in their sliding movement by tracks (22, 24), in such a way that a first door is guided by first and second runners (14, 12). The first runner (14) runs in a first track (24). The second runner (12) runs in a second track (22), and the tracks are parallel or colinear over a part of their length and divide and diverge in the region of final positioning of the door concerned whereby the first runner following the first track and the second runner following the second track cause the door in its travel to its closed position to move into a position in which it abuts and is co-planar with a second door.

Système de porte coulissante dans lequel les bords en appui (70, 72) des deux portes (66, 68) ont une forme essentiellement plane (au lieu de présenter des gradins ou des rainures), l'angle entre le plan et le plan des portes étant inférieur à 90o lorsque ces dernières se trouvent en position fermée en appui. Cette construction donne aux portes un aspect propre et net, lorsqu'elles sont fermées et vues de face. Le coulissement de la paire de portes (10A, 10B) peut être guidé par des rails (22, 24), de sorte qu'une première porte est guidée par les premier et deuxième curseurs (14, 12). Le premier curseur (14) roule dans un premier rail (24). Le deuxième curseur (12) roule dans un deuxième rail (22) et les rails sont parallèles ou co-linéaires sur une partie de leur longueur et se divisent pour s'écarter dans le région de positionnement final de la porte relative. Le premier curseur suivant le premier rail et le deuxième curseur suivant le deuxième rail provoquent le déplacement de la porte, coulissant vers sa position fermée, vers une position où elle est en appui contre une deuxième porte et coplanaire avec celle-ci.
