[origin: EP0205619A1] Silicon-steel slab contg. C (0.01-0.08 wt.%), Si (3.1-4.5 wt.%), sol. Al (0.005-0.06 wt.%), Mo (0.003-0.1 wt.%) and S and/or Se (0.005-0.1 wt.% in all) is heat-treated at 1270 deg.C or above, the ignition loss upon heating being 2.7-5.0%; hot-rolled; continuously annealed at 950-1200 deg.C and rapidly cooled, cold-rolled at 250-400 deg.C, the redn. ratio during cold-rolling being 80-90%; and then subjected to conventional prim. re-crystallisation annealing with decarburisation followed by second re-crystallisation finish-annealing.
