[origin: US4721536A] For increasing the resistance of steel pipes or tubes against acidic medium, by a combination of a heat treatment and the use of an alloyed steel, a compressure stress is built up on the side of the tubes or pipes facing the acidic medium, of up to 30% of the yield limit.

Zur Erhöhung der Beständigkeit von Stahlrohren gegenüber sauren Medien wird durch die Kombination von Wärmebehandlungsverfahren und Verwendung von legierten Kohlenstoffstählen ein Eigenspannungszustand erzeugt, der das Vorhandensein von Druckspannungen auf der dem sauren Medium zugewandten Innenseite des Rohres von bis zu 30% der Streckgrenze bedingt.
