[origin: EP0206542A1] A freight container of generally cuboidal shape includes a pair of sides (3) which define the lateral extremities of the container and extend between ends (1, 2) of the container. The exterior surfaces of the pair of sides are spaced apart by a greater distance along their middle portions (15) than along their end portions (16), whereby the overall width of the container is less at the end portions than at the middle portions. The container is therefore able to have an increased capacity for a given size of each end.
