[origin: US4711308A] A hand-held tool, such as a hammer drill or chipping hammer, includes a housing with a driving unit for supplying the driving force for the tool with the driving unit generating vibrations. A handle is mounted on the housing and is displaceable in the direction of the main vibration axis. A stop for the forward movement of the handle is provided by an electromagnet. The electromagnet is formed by a yoke, an armature and a magnetic coil and exerts a controlled constant force on the handle and the housing independently of the position of the handle relative to the housing. The electromagnet can be controlled depending on the position of use of the hand-held tool.

Das Handwerkzeug mit einem Gehäuse (1) und darin angeordneter, Schwingungen erzeugender Antriebseinrichtung weist einen mit dem Gehäuse (1) parallel zur Hauptschwingungsachse zwischen zwei Anschlägen begrenzt verschiebbar verbundenen Handgriff (2) auf. Der in Vorschubrichtung des Handwerkzeuges angeordnete Anschlag des Handgriffes (2) ist als Elektromagnet (6) ausgebildet. Der aus einem Joch (6a), einem Anker (6b) sowie einer Magnetspule (6c) bestehende Elektromagnet (6) ist so ausgelegt, dass er praktisch unabhängig von der Stellung des Handgriffes (2) gegenüber dem Gehäuse (1) eine konstante, regelbare Kraft sowohl auf den Handgriff (2) als auch auf das Gehäuse (1) ausübt. Die Kraft des Elektromagneten (6) ist regelbar, so dass beispielsweise eine Anpassung an die von der Lage des Handwerkzeuges abhängigen Verhältnisse möglich ist.
