Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0207566A1] A pivot for forming a swivelling connection between a rack (11), on which electrical conductors and power supply devices are mounted, and a switching cap (2), which can hold means of switching (1), such as, for example, fuses or blade packages. By means of this pivot, the switching cap (2) can be swivelled from a position in which the means of switching (1) are coupled to the electrical conductors of the power supply devices (12, 13) mounted on the rack and are covered by the switching cap (2), into a position in which the switching cap is removed from the rack (11). The pivot has a roller surface (6), fixedly connected to the rack, and a roller device (5), fixedly connected to the switching cap, for the roller surface (6), the roller surface (6) being located in a surface which is perpendicular to the swivelling surface of the switching cap (2) outside the region between the power supply devices (12, 13) and being turned towards the side of the rack (11) on which the switching cap (2) is located, and the roller device (5) being situated outside the switching cap (2) in the vicinity of an edge of the switching cap and running parallel to this edge, perpendicular to the said swivelling surface. The roller surface (6) and the roller device (5) are bent in such a manner and take up a position with respect to the switching cap (2) and to the rack (11) such that, when a swivelling movement takes place, the switching cap (2) is moved in a flat curved path (16, 17) between the positions in which the means of switching (1) are connected to, or removed from, the power supply devices (12, 13) of the rack (11).
