Method of automatically charging a liquid, said liquid consisting of at least one first portion which is kept free from problems of mechanical stress and of at least one second portion which is subjected to said problems, into specially fed tanks at a filling station, to which supplying and feeding stations and, if need be, processing plants for purifying the liquid are connected, in which method the first portion is conveyed to the filling station separately from the second, characterised in that only the first portion is raised, before being charged, to such a high temperature that the second portion, on settling after being charged into the tank, is raised, through absorption of heat from the first portion, to at least the required temperature.
