1. Window winder, particularly for a car, of the type having a curved slide (1), a carriage (6) integral with a window (8) and which can be moved along said slide (1) by means of a cable passing over two return pulleys (2, 3) and winding onto a drum (9; 16; 17) of a manipulating winch (10), said drum (9; 16; 17) having a variable cross-section in such a way that the length of the wound cable varies as a function of the position of carriage (6) on slide (1), characterized in that as the cable is constituted by two strands (S, I), each fixed to one of the ends (A, B) of drum (9; 16; 17), the cross-section increases from one end of the drum (9; 16; 17) to a maximum corresponding to the point of the slide (1) furthest from an axis (C-C) passing through the two pulleys (2, 3) and then decreases to the other end of the drum (9; 16; 17).

Ce lève-vitre notamment pour véhicule automobile, du type comportant une glissière courbe (1), un chariot (6) solidaire d'une vitre (8) et susceptible d'être déplacé le long de ladite glissière (1) au moyen d'un càble passant sur deux poules de renvoi (2,3) et s'enroulant sur un tambour (9) d'un treuil de manoeuvre (10), est caractérisé en ce que ledit tambour (9) présente une section transversale variable de façon que la longueur du càble enroulé varie en fonction de la position du chariot (6) sur la glissière (1).
