Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0210352A1] 1. Gate valve for controlling viscous media containing a high proportion of dirt, in paticular for use in paper repulping, which comprises a housing (1) provided with a discharge opening and also two valve guides (2) mounted thereon in each of which a linearly extending valve plate (3) is arranged so as to be capable of sliding and the valve guides (2) are at the same time mounted on the housing (1) so that, during the closing or opening operation, the two valve plates (3) can be moved towards each other or away from each other respectively in the discharge opening of the housing (1) and so that, in the closed position, the end pieces, which make contact with each other, of the valve plates (3) come together linearly, characterized in that the valve guides (2) are mounted on the housing (1) in a manner such that, in the closed position, the two valve plates are arranged in a v-shape in the discharge opening, the ends of the valve plates (3) which come together forming the point of the v-shaped arrangement situated at the front in the flow direction (F).
