Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0211164A2] 1. Method of monitoring drainage systems of rainwater reservoirs, wherein a drainage pipe, with which a throttling member is associated, is associated with the rainwater reservoir and wherein the flow of sewage through the drainage pipe, serving to divert sewage from the rainwater reservoir, can be restricted to a predetermined nominal value, characterised in that the flow through the drainage pipe is monitored to determine whether a predetermined, excessively high value has been exceeded and/or in that, if the flow through the drainage pipe is restricted in a controlled manner to a predetermined nominal value, monitoring is carried out to determine whether excessively rapidly succeeding changes in the direction of travel by the throttling member are effected by the controller and/or monitoring is carried out to determine whether the water level in the rainwater reservoir or in a feed channel preceding the rainwater reservoir exceeds a predetermined depth while, at the same time, a predetermined low value for the flow through the drainage pipe is fallen below, resulting in a blockage of the drainage pipe at this water level, and/or monitoring is carried out to determine whether permanent tightening of the throttling member is occurring and/or monitoring is carried out to determine whether the actuator of the throttling member is overloaded and, if so, the throttling member is transferred into a safety position preventing the nominal value of the flow through the drainage pipe from being exceeded.
