[origin: EP0211355A2] A lighting fixture with a lighting fixture housing (10) and a lamp cover (11) is simplified and improved by the fact that a cover plate (28) is attached in a sealed manner to the lamp cover (11), which plate has an axially extending annular plate continuation (31) which engages a groove (26) in the light fixture housing (10) with a seal (27) contained therein and thus ensures that the lighting fixture is sealed against water vapour. The interior of the lighting fixture housing (10) is also sealed against water vapour by the fact that the lighting fixture housing (10) is connected in a water-vapour-proof manner, for example bonded, to the cover plate (28). A support plate (36) which carries the lamp base (13) with the lamp (12) can be locked to the cover plate (28).
