[origin: US4682133A] A relay includes two armatures each having a contact spring and a contact piece secured thereto which interacts with the respective cooperating contact element. The two movable contact pieces are electrically connected by a stranded copper conductor so that a series connection of the two contacts is formed. The series connection can be interrupted twice by the two armatures which switch independently of one another so that a reliable opening of the circuit is assured even if one of the contacts fuses. The relay is particularly useful for safety circuits such as in motor vehicles.

Das Relais besitzt zwei Anker (16, 17) mit jeweils einer Kontaktfeder (21, 22) und einem daran befestigten kontaktstück (23, 24), welches mit jeweils einem Gegenkontaktelement (26, 27) zusammenwirkt. Die beiden beweglichen Kontaktstücke (23, 24) sind über eine Kupferlitze (25) elektrisch verbunden, wodurch eine Serienschaltung der beiden Kontakte ermöglicht ist. Diese Serienschaltung kann durch die beiden unabhängig voneinander schaltenden Anker (16, 17) zweimal unterbrochen werden, so daß auch beim Verschweißen des einen Kontaktes noch eine zuverlässige Öffnung des Stromkreises gesichert ist. Dadurch ist das Relais in Sicherheitsschaltungen, vorzugsweise in Kraftfahrzeugen, einsetzbar.
