1. A light, inter alia for intermittent signalling on a motor vehicle, of the kind comprising : - a source (21, 22, 24, 26) of approximately colourless light, - means (50, 51, 150, 151, 250, 251, 451) for converting the light emitted by the source (21, 22), when in operation, into a number of elementary light beams (54, 55, 154, 155) and for subsequently combining the elementary beams (54, 55, 154, 155) into a single beam (56, 156) having a given central direction (18, 19, 20), and - a number of juxtaposed elementary filters (57, 58, 59, 157, 158, 159, 257, 258, 259, 357, 358, 359) each disposed in the path of a respective elementary beam (54, 55, 154, 155) to give it a respective colour, the respective colours being complementary, by additive synthesis, with respect to a standardized colour conventionally allocated to the signalling operation of the light, so that the single beam (56, 156) has the standardized colour in homogeneous manner, by additive synthesis of the respective colours of the elementary beams (54, 55, 154, 155), some (57, 157, 257, 357) of the elementary filters having the same colour towards the exterior of the light and being uniformly distributed transversely to the said central direction, characterised in that the elementary filters (57, 157, 257, 357) having the said same colour towards the exterior of the light have a total surface area which is greater than that of the other elementary filters (58, 59, 158, 159, 258, 259, 358, 359) transversely to the said central direction (18, 19, 20).

La présente invention concerne un feu notamment destiné aux véhicules automobiles. Pour colorer la lumière (38, 39) émise par la source du feu lorsque celui-ci est en service, il est prévu des moyens (50, 51, 57, 58, 59) pour transformer cette lumière en une pluralité de faisceaux élémentaires (54, 55) présentant des couleurs respectives complémentaires, par synthèse additive, par rapport à une couleur normalisée attribuée réglementairement à la fonction de signalisation du feu, et pour combiner ces faisceaux élémentaires (54, 55) en un faisceau unique (56) présentant de façon homogène cette couleur normalisée; il est ainsi possible de donner au feu, lorsqu'il n'est pas en service, une dominante de couleur que l'on peut retrouver sur des feux aux fonctions de signalisation desquels sont attribuées d'autres couleurs normalisées. Ainsi, les différents feux de signalisation d'un véhicule automobile peuvent présenter le même aspect lorsqu'ils ne sont pas en service, et leur dominante de couleur commune peut être assortie à la couleur de la carrosserie du véhicule.
