[origin: EP0212614A2] The glass plate cleaning device has a horizontal conveyor (1, 1a, 4) which, for the purpose of supporting the glass plates (5) by means of one of their two large surfaces when passing through the cleaning device, has support elements (2, 2a) which define a glass plate running surface (6). Arranged on both sides of the glass plate running plane (6) are pairs of driveable brush rollers (8, 8a, 9, 9a, 10, 10a, 11, 11a) whose axes run transversely to the running direction (7) of the horizontal conveyor. In each case at least one brush roller of the brush rollers (8 to 11 and 8a to 11a, respectively) arranged on one and the same side of the glass plate running plane (7) can be driven in the opposite direction to the other brush rollers arranged on the same side. <IMAGE>
