[origin: WO8605334A1] An electro-mechanical device for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa, which advantageously utilizes the phenomenon known as contact charging. A metallic first member (17) is urged into intimate abutting contact along a surface therof with a surface of a second member (14) formed from semiconductor material. The abutting surfaces of the members are each divided into a plurality of segments (14, 17, 16, 18) such that relative movement between the members, while the members are retained in abutting contact, results in the capacitance of the device varying within predetermined limits.

Dispositif électromécanique permettant de convertir l'énergie mécanique en énergie électrique et vice versa, tirant avantageusement parti du phénomène dit de ''charge par contact''. Un premier organe métallique (17) est sollicité vers un contact intime en appui le long d'une de ses surfaces avec une surface d'un second organe (14) constitué d'un matériau semiconducteur. Les surfaces en appui des organes sont chacune divisées en une pluralité de segments (14, 17, 16, 18) de sorte que le mouvement relatif entre les organes, tandis que ces derniers sont maintenus en contact d'appui, aboutit à faire varier dans des limites prédéterminées la capacité du dispositif.
