[origin: EP0213742A2] A closure member for a container includes a cap member (12) with a skirt wall (18) having an internally threaded portion (20) for engagement with a neck (22) of a container (24). An annular flap (34) is joined to a band portion (14) of the cap member and abuts against a shoulder (40) of the container neck and resists unscrewing of the cap member when so fitted. The band portion (14) is interconnected with the main body of the cap member (12) by frangible link means (32), the link means resisting unscrewing of the cap member until they are severed, such severing being visible when the cap member is returned to the container neck. Centralising means in the form of lugs (42) on the band portion (14) coact with an axially inclined ramp surface (36) to ensure that the closure once fully applied to the container is centrally located on the container neck and substantially prevent transverse movement of the band portion (14) relative to the container neck.
