[origin: US4673003A] A stopping mechanism includes a brake device for an insertion device and a detector for determining the position of the insertion device. The detector includes a sensor which subjects the insertion device to electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range and operates on the Doppler principle. The position of the insertion device is determined by counting the number of crossover points of the Doppler signal in relation to a reference position. The detector has a high degree of resolution and is particularly suitable for looms using gripper shuttles. It is also highly flexible in the location in which the sensor may be arranged in the stopping mechanism.

Das Fangwerk (1) enthält eine Bremseinrichtung (4) für das Eintragsorgan (2) und eine Detektionseinrichtung zur Bestimmung von dessen Position. Die Detektionseinrichtung ist durch einen das Eintragsorgan (2) mit elektromagnetischer Strahlung im Mikrowellenbereich beaufschlagenden und nach dem Doppler-Prinzip arbeitenden Sensor (7) gebildet. Die Bestimmung der Position des Eintragsorgans (2) erfolgt durch Zählung der Anzahl der Nulldurchgänge des Dopplersignals in bezug auf eine Referenzposition. Die Detektionseinrichtung ist besonders für Projektilwebmaschinen geeignet und weist eine hohe Auflösung auf. Ausserdem ist sie bezüglich des Ortes der Anordnung des Sensors (7) im Fangwerk (1) sehr flexibel.
