A process for removing a highly resistant reaction layer, preferably a paint coat, from an article, in particular a paint coat produced by powder coating, in which a swellable primer is applied to the unpainted article, finely distributed flaws are formed in the paint coat of the coated article, and the article is subsequently exposed to a swelling agent, and a plant for carrying out a process of this type, having a cooling station and a swelling agent station, a primer having a basic constituent in the form of an albumin compound, and having a solvent. This primer is used as an adhesion promoter.

Auf den unlackierten Gegenstand wird eine quellfähige Grundschicht aufgebracht wird, feinverteilte Fehlstellen in der Lackschicht des lackierten Gegenstandes werden ausgebildet und der Gegenstand wird nachfolgend einem Quellmittel ausgesetzt. Die Anlage umfasst eine Kühlstation (1) und einer Quellmittelstation (2); das Grundierungsmittel weist mit einen Grundbestandteil in Form einer Eiweißverbindung und ein Lösungsmittel auf.
