[origin: WO8701314A1] Process and device for manufacturing a wire link conveyor (10) from alternating right- and left-coiled spirals (4, 5) made of metal or plastic wire, in which the spirals are fed to a constriction in such a way that the turns forming the spirals open up in the region of the constriction and the turns which are facing one another are partly forced into one another in such a manner that one of the turns of one of the spirals is located between adjacent turns of the adjacent spiral. The turns thus inserted in one another are connected by inserting a connecting wire (12) in the space formed by the turns which thus overlap and several pairs of turns inserted in one another are fed to the constriction, in the region of which the turns are driven in the transport direction (13). A high production speed is achieved, and the wire link conveyors obtained are of wide dimensions.

Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung eines Drahtgliederbandes (10) aus abwechselnd rechtsgängig bzw. linksgängig gewickelten Wendeln (4,5) aus Metalldraht oder Kunststoffdraht, wobei man die Wendeln einer Engstelle zuführt derart, daß die die Wendeln ausbildenden Windungen sich im Bereich der Engstelle öffnen und nebeneinander befindliche Wendeln hierbei teilweise ineinander geschoben werden derart, daß sich jeweils eine der Windungen der einen Wendel zwischen benachbarten Windungen der benachbarten Wendel befindet, wobei man die derart ineinander gesteckten Wendein durch Einführen eines Kupplungsdrahts (12) in den durch die sich überlappenden Windungen ausgebildeten Raum miteinander verbindet und wobei man jeweils mehrere der ineinander gesteckten Wendelpaare der Engstelle zuführt, in deren Bereich man die Wendeln in der Transportrichtung (13) antreibt. Man erhält eine hohe Produktionsgeschwindigkeit und breite Drahtgliederbänder.
