[origin: EP0216727A2] The shoe insert is intended as a disposable article with a period of use of 1-2 days. Accordingly, the absorption capacity for liquid is also limited to this maximum time. Of the layers, a first, lowermost anti-slip layer (1) is formed from a thin polyurethane foam and serves as an anti-slip layer and moisture barrier in addition to providing stability. Between an intermediate layer (2) and a covering layer (4) which each consist of a fleece material, lies the absorption layer (3) which is made from 10-ply cellulose. The active ingredients are sprayed in microcapsule form onto the covering layer (4). These four layers are interconnected by calendering by means of textured heated embossing rollers. <IMAGE>
