Sliding gate valve for the outlet of vessels containing molten metal, consisting of bottom and valve plates (1, 2) formed at least partly from refractory material, encased in metal, disposed in supports (14) in a fixed but releasable manner and sliding one on the other by closing surfaces (15, 16), the bottom plate (1) being disposed in a receiving apparatus (10, 11) and being able to be clamped approximately in the longitudinal direction by its end faces (23) between a first end part (11) of the receiving apparatus (10, 11) and a support member (21), which is adjustably mounted in a second opposing end part (10) of the receiving apparatus (10, 11), characterised in that the receiving apparatus (10, 11) consists of two jaws (10, 11), which are attached at a corresponding distance from each other to the support (14) associated with the bottom plate (1), and that formed in a first jaw (10) with the adjustably mounted support member (21) is a locking apparatus (20, 21, 22), by means of which the bottom plate can be locked in a position, in which it is applied or pressed against the opposing, second jaw (11), for carrying out the locking, a T-shaped clamping member (21) being able to slide in a likewise T-shaped groove extending at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the first jaw (10) and being received so that it can be fixed in position by means of a screw (22) acting at right angles to the clamping direction, the clamping member (21) being able to be pressed against the adjacent end face (23) of the bottom plate.

In einem Schieberverschluß für den Ausguß von Metallschmelze enthaltenden Behältern, der vor allem ein Paar Boden- und Schieberplatten (1; 2) umfaßt, ist die Bodenplatte (1) mit ihren Stirnseiten (23) zwischen zwei Backen (10, 11) angeordnet und mittels einer Spannvorrichtung in einer Lage verriegelbar, in der sie zwischen den beiden Backen (10, 11) festgelegt ist. Die Spannvorrichtung besteht vorzugsweise aus einem Klemmstück (21) in einer Quernut (20) einer der beiden Backen (10, 11), das an die benachbarte Stirnseite (23) der Bodenplatte (1) andrückbar ist, wodurch das Auswechseln und Einspannen der Bodenplatte (1) vereinfacht wird. Bei gleich langer Gestaltung der Bodenplatte (1) einschließlich der Backen (10, 11) einerseits und der Schieberplatte (2) andererseits ergibt sich eine erhebliche Einsparung an Feuerfestmaterial durch die relativ kurze Länge der Bodenplatte (1).
