Abstract (en)
1. A check shoe for railway wagons or carriages, which is provided with a base plate (1) which terminates in a run-on tongue portion (2) and carries a ramp support means (5) provided with a run-on plate (6) for a wheel to be braked, and with a handle (9), wherein the check shoe at least partially but preferably entirely comprises a cast iron material, characterised in that at least the base plate (1) of the check shoe comprises cast iron with spheroidal graphite (GGG, spheroidal graphite iron), wherein adjoining the part of the ramp support means (5) which carries the run-on plate (6) is a limb portion (8) which is supported on the base plate (1).

Dargestellt wird ein Hemmschuh für Eisenbahnwagen, der zur Gänze aus Gußeisen mit Kugelgraphit besteht. Die spezielle Konstruktion berücksichtigt die geringere Wärmeleitfähigkeit dieses Materials.
