[origin: WO8605379A1] An electrosurgical device (11) comprising an elongated probe (21) having a distal end (29) and a generally longitudinally extending passage (23) opening at a port (27) at the distal end of the probe and an elongated member (51) slidable in the passage and having proximal and distal end portions. At least regions of the distal end portions of the probe (21) and of the elongated member (51) are curved, and the elongated member (51) is resiliently deformable. The curved regions of the probe (21) and the elongated member (51) enable the elongated member (51) to extend out of the probe in a direction which is different from the direction of elongation of the probe to form an electrode for electrosurgery. The elongated member (51) and the probe (21) are relatively movable so that the length of the electrode can be varied.

Instrument électrochirurgical (11) comprenant une sonde allongée (21) possédant une extrémité distale (29) et un passage s'étendant généralement longitudinalement (23) et s'ouvrant au niveau d'un orifice (27) sur l'extrémité distale de la sonde, ainsi qu'un organe allongé (51) coulissant dans le passage et possédant des parties d'extrémité proximales et distales. Au moins quelques régions des parties d'extrémité distales de la sonde (21) et de l'organe allongé (51) sont courbes, et l'organe allongé (51) est déformable de manière élastique. Les régions courbes de la sonde (21) et de l'organe allongé (51) permettent à ce dernier (51) de s'étendre à l'extérieur de la sonde dans un sens qui est différent du sens de la longueur de la sonde pour former une électrode d'électrochirurgie. L'organe allongé (51) et la sonde (21) sont mobiles l'un par rapport à l'autre de manière à pouvoir modifier la longueur de l'électrode.
