1. Sheet metal offset pliers with two complimentary offset plier jaws (4, 5) bounding at one end a workpiece insertion mouth (16) of the plier opening (15) and provided on plier parts (2, 3) movable against one another, whereof a working jaw (5) with its offset pressure surface (23, 24) is movable mounted against the offset pressure surface (21, 22) of an opposite jaw (4) and whose pressure surfaces have at least one set forward individual face (21, 23) and a set back individual face (22, 24) connected thereto by means of a step (25, 26) in its longitudinal direction and which in each case are connected on either side to side faces (28 to 31) of the plier jaws located at right angles thereto, characterized in that the width of the contact face between at least one pair of cooperating individual faces (21, 24 or 22, 23) is smaller than approximately 10 mm, the angles between at least one individual face (21 to 24) and the associated side faces (28 to 31) is greater than 90 degrees and the contact face of the cooperating individual faces (22, 23) more remote from the insertion mouth (16) is smaller than the contact face between the two other cooperating individual faces (21, 24).

Eine Blech-Absetzzange (1) weist Zangenbacken (4, 5) mit gegeneinander komplementär abgesetzten Druckflächen in Form von Einzelflächen (21 bis 24) auf, deren seitliche Flankenflächen gekrümmt schräg an die Einzelflächen anschließen, so daß die Zangenbacken (4, 5) auch in Blechwerkstück-Bereichen arbeiten können, die, wie im Falle beispielsweise von Sicken, mit verhältnismäßig kleinem Krümmungsradius gekrümmt sind. Ein Werkstück-Anschlag (17) ist dabei hinter den Zangenbacken (4, 5) so angeordnet, daß auch an einspringenden Ecken des Blechwerkstückes gearbeitet werden kann, da seine Flankenflächen (19) hierbei nicht stören.
