[origin: US4671340A] This invention relates to a roller for continuous casting between rollers, with circulation of cooling fluid. In this roller, comprising a cylindrical body surrounded by an envelope, the cooling fluid circulation channels disposed circumferentially between the body and the envelope, are constituted by groups of grooves on the inner surface of the envelope extending over arcs of circumference, and organizing the circulation in distinct angular sectors corresponding to each group. Axial throats are provided between the body and the envelope at the ends of each sector, and into which open out, on the one hand, radial fluid admission and return pipes passing through the body, and, on the other hand, the grooves of a group by one of their ends, the throats being in a number double that of the angular sectors.

Dans ce cylindre comprennant un corps cylindrique (19) entouré d'une enveloppe (20), les canaux de circulation de fluide de refroidissement disposés circonférentiellement entre le corps et l'enveloppe, sont constitués par des groupes de rainures (29) à la surface intérieure de l'enveloppe (20) s'étendant sur des arcs de circonférence, et organisant la circulation en secteurs angulaires (I, II, III) distincts, correspondant à chaque groupe. Des gorges axiales (28) sont ménagées entre le corps (19) et l'enveloppe (20) aux extrémités de chaque secteur, et dans lesquelles débouchent, d'une part, des canalisations radiales (26, 27) d'amenée et de retour du fluide, traversant ledit corps (19), et, d'autre part, les rainures (29) d'un groupe par l'une de leurs extrémités, lesdites gorges étant en nombre égal au double de celui des secteurs angulaires (I, II, III).
