[origin: WO8606132A1] A hollow window-pane spacer (10) with internal partitions (30) and a corner piece (110) for connecting spacer members (10A), (10B) to form a spacer frame used in the construction of thermally insulated windows. The corner piece (110) includes legs (122), (120) forming a right angle. Each leg has a cutting edge (130). When the ends of each leg are inserted into a hollow spacer (10A) or (10B), the edge (130) cuts around the adjacent partition (30) and enters the spacer (10A) or (10B). Sealant can be injected after assembly to seal off any gaps around the installed corner piece. A method is also disclosed for forming the spacer from sheet (31). The method comprises the steps of folding edge portions of the sheet to form an open channel. Then desiccant and partitions are loaded into the open channel after which a longitudinal edge portion of at least one flap (36), (38) is folded at an angle to that flap to close the channel and thereby form a substantially closed desiccant-containing compartment.

Un élément d'espacement creux (10) pour vitrage possède des séparations internes (30) et une cornière (110) permettant la connexion des organes d'espacement (10A), (10B) pour former un cadre d'espacement utilisé dans la construction de fenêtres thermo-isolées. La cornière (110) comprend des pieds (122, 120) formant un angle droit. Chaque pied possède un bord tranchant (130). Lorsque les extrémités de chaque pied sont introduites dans un organe d'espacement creux (10A ou 10B), le bord tranchant (130) coupe autour de la séparation adjacente (30) et entre dans l'organe d'espacement (10A ou 10B). Un mastic peut être injecté après assemblage pour fermer hermétiquement tout espace autour de la cornière installée. Une méthode est également décrite pour former l'organe d'espacement à partir de tôle (31). La méthode comprend les étapes de pliage de portions de bordure de la tôle pour former un canal ouvert. Ensuite un dessiccant et des séparations sont introduits dans le canal ouvert, après quoi une portion de bordure longitudinale d'au moins un rabat (36, 38) est pliée suivant un angle par rapport à ce rabat pour fermer le canal et former ainsi un compartiment sensiblement fermé contenant le dessiccant.
