Abstract (en)

1. Folding door assembly of the kind comprising two panels hinged one to the other, these being a first panel (1) of small width hinged to an upright (4) of the frame of the door and a second panel (2) of greater width hinged to the first panel, said second panel assuming a position crosswise to the frame with one part on either side thereof when the door is in the open position, characterised in that the door is used in conjunction with a conventional rebated frame with no floor-mounted element and in that the hinged means of the first panel (1) are installed in a fixed position at a distance sufficiently far away from the upright to allow the said first panel (1) to open in a direction opposite from that in which the rebate faces such that, in the closed position, the edge of the second panel butts into the rebate, thus allowing a conventional lock to be used and in that the assembly also comprises a channel (15) shaped to contain a slot, said channel being intended to be positioned in the lintel rebate to enable a peg (20) secured to the second panel (2) to slide in the slot.
