The rotary piston machine consists of a plurality of circular piston rotors, mounted axially one behind the other on a shaft, each of which piston rotors has a piston which runs along an associated, contacting operating chamber wall of in each case a circular- cylindrical operating chamber (4). The gaseous medium is fed into and out of the respective operating chamber by means of valve devices (7), and a controlled, sealing shut-off device splits the respective operating chamber in each case into an induction chamber and a compression or expansion chamber. In order to achieve a simple mechanical construction, and to reduce the sealing losses, according to the invention, the shut-off rotor is omitted and the shaft is designed as a hollow shaft (6) which merely has an end-face bearing (51) in each case on the housing, the controlled shut-off device sealing the operating chamber being designed as a linear or rotating valve controlled indirectly or directly by the piston. <IMAGE>

Die Rotationskolbenmaschine besteht aus mehreren kreisförmigen, axial hintereinander auf einer Welle befestigten Kolbenläufern, von denen jeder einen Kolben aufweist, der an einer zugeordneten, ruhenden Arbeitsraumwandung jeweils eines kreiszylindrischen Arbeitsraumes (4) entlangläuft. Das gasförmige Medium wird durch Ventilvorrichtungen (7) in den jeweiligen Arbeitsraum ein- und ausgeleitet und eine gesteuertes, ditchtendes Absperrorgan unterteilt den jeweiligen Arbeitsraum jeweils in einen Ansaugraum und einen Kompressions- oder Expansionsraum. Zur Erreichung eines einfachen mechanischen Aufbaus und zur Verringerung der Dichtungsverluste entfällt erfindungsgemäss der Absperrläufer und die Welle ist als Hohlwelle (6) ausgebildet, welche lediglich jeweils stirnseitige Lager (51) am Gehäuse aufweist, wobei das den Arbeitsraum gesteuert abdichtende Absperrorgan als vom Kolben mittelbar oder unmittelbar gesteuertes Hub- oder Drehventil ausgebildet ist.
