A building panel or block or the like for the outside wall of a building, edge section members being provided on the inside of the panel at least near the vertical panel edges, the edge section members having a web (3) which is spaced apart from and extends parallel to the panel edge and which has a bent fixing flange on the side remote from the panel edge, characterised in that the web (3) with the bent fixing flange (4) is part of a Z-section member whose arm (5) extending towards the panel edge merges into a turn-up (6), and the bent fixing flange (4) carries clamping members (8) which extend towards the panel edge and which are adapted to engage around a support member (7) engaging the end face of the turn-up (6).
