[origin: WO8600675A1] A hydraulic shock absorber comprises a cylinder (1), a piston rod (2), a fluid or fluids contained within the cylinder, a piston structure (7, 12), the piston structure incorporating fluid conducting passageways (10, 11) and means (13, 14) to regulate the passageways, the regulating means being controlled by relative displacement between the piston structure and the cylinder. If a displacement is applied to the shock-absorber which causes relative motion between the piston structure and the cylinder, fluid will be caused to pass from the side of the piston structure to the other side through passageways which offer a degree of restriction to fluid dependent on the position of the piston structure relative to the cylinder.

Un amortisseur hydraulique comprend un cylindre (1), une tige de piston (2), un ou plusieurs fluides contenu(s) dans le cylindre, une structure de piston (7, 12), la structure de piston incorporant des passages d'amenée de fluide (10, 11) et des organes (13, 14) de régulation des passages, ces organes de régulation étant commandés par le déplacement relatif entre la structure de piston et le cylindre. Lorsque l'amortisseur est soumis à un déplacement provoquant un mouvement relatif entre la structure de piston et le cylindre, on provoque le passage du fluide depuis un côté de la structure de piston à l'autre côté à travers des passages qui limitent le passage du fluide en fonction de la position de la structure de piston par rapport au cylindre.
