[origin: US4796171A] A low beam headlamp for motor vehicles includes an objective made of pressed glass whose one side is formed as aspheric partial surfaces of identical or different aspherity. The partial surfaces are staggered in the direction parallel to the optical axis of the objective and the resulting step has rounded edges. The aspheric partial surfaces adjust light distribution to achieve a desired quality of the light-dark boundary zone projected on the driveway, and provide corrected color fringes of the passing light beam.

Der Scheinwerfer für Abblendlicht von Kraftfahrzeugen hat ein aus gepreßtem Glas hergestelltes Objektiv (15), dessen eine Seite asphärische Teilflächen (16; 17, 17') gleicher oder unterschiedlicher Asphären aufweist. Die Teilflächen sind in Richtung der Achse (12) versetzt, wobei die Versatzstufe (19) Abrundungen (20, 21) aufweist. Hierdurch ist unmittelbar durch das Objektiv (15) sowohl ein Eingriff in die Lichtverteilung als auch eine Korrektur des Lichtbündelfarbsaumes möglich.
