[origin: EP0221532A2] In a decantation centrifuge, the processing space is surrounded by a pressure housing in which a drum and a worm are mounted in concentric arrangement, the connections between processing space and the atmosphere occurring in the region of the bearing points being provided with sliding ring seals. In order to be able to subject the product to be processed in the processing space to raised pressures and temperatures, it is proposed to arrange in each case a double sliding ring seal in the region of the bearing points between the drum and the worm, which seal encloses a separate sealing space which is situated within a closed coolant and lubricant circuit and is connected via a connection channel situated in the drum and a first rotational feed and via a connection channel arranged in the worm and a second rotational feed to a part of a coolant and lubricant circuit located outside the pressure housing. <IMAGE>
