[origin: EP0221694A2] Vehicle antenna system having no portion outwardly extending from the vehicle body, the vehicle antenna system including a loop antenna (32) housed within the interior of the vehicle body, the loop antenna being disposed opposed to the edge of a metallic panel on the vehicle body and capable of picking up high frequency surface currents induced on the surface of the vehicle body by broadcast waves. The loop antenna is printed on a print substrate (34) which in turn is rigidly mounted on the marginal portion of the vehicle body. The loop antenna printed on the print substrate is electrically connected in series with a capacitor (36) to form a series resonance circuit.
