Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0222065A2] 1. A stay mechanism for the moving member of tilt-turn windows, doors or the like, comprising at least one stay (1) which is concealed between the rebates of the moving member and the frame, and which is articulated solely for pivoting by way of a bracket (6) in a bearing block mounted on the visible surface of the frame adjacent the room, the said bracket (6) being received in a recess extending from the rebate peripheral surface adjacent the frame as far as the area of the bearing bracket, the said stay being mounted for rotation through at least 180 degrees in that limb (7) of the bracket which extends away from the bearing member, via a joint extending parallel to the stay longitudinal axis (2), the said joint comprising a bore (5) in the bracket and a pin (3) on the stay, a detent device (14, 16) being provided between the bracket and the stay for fixing the stay on the bracket in two positions offset by 180 degrees relatively to one another, characterised in that the periphery of the pin (3) on the stay (1) has two diametrically opposite plane detent surfaces (14) with which a plane spring washer (16) is in contact, said spring washer being fixed (17) in a recess (15) of the bracket (6) so as to be flexurally deformable.
